Father Paul Schwietz

It all starts with Paul’s laugh, a laugh from so deep in his belly it can only be described as “joyful, reckless abandon.”  My brother was like that. His manner had no pretense, no reservations.

It’s been said the eyes are the windows to the soul. Paul had a way of looking at you as if you were the most important person in the world. He saw with his heart, a perspective bigger than what is on the surface. The Arboretum at St. John’s University is but a small sample of this.

Paul gave his very being, just like the Jesus he believed in, followed and celebrated. Paul gifted parts of himself to those in need while he was with us and after he left.
